The pieces are then hand lacquered in a vibrant, yet tasteful Japanese colorway. Note that there may be slight variations in the wood pattern, since no two pieces are alike. 
• Allows rice to 'breathe', more so than if stored inside a plastic bento! This means that the rice tastes better.
